Gi Classes

  • A clean White, Blue, or Black Gi with no foul odors and a clean, properly ranked belt are required for gi classes.  It is preferred that you wear a rash guard or similarly tight fitting garment under your gi top as fingers can get caught in loose clothing.
  • Wear the appropriate gi for the appropriate class!  No TaeKwonDo gi’s in BJJ class, they are different.
  • Some Jiu-Jitsu Seminars will require a white gi, you will be notified in advance
  • Patches must be sewn securely to your gi, no loose edges that could cause injury.
  • Wildfire BJJ requires TEAM RHINO association patches on your gi.  New students and new gi’s have a 30 day grace period.

No Gi Classes

  • Gi pants or tights under shorts and a long sleeved rash guard or similarly tight fitting garment.  Shorts and short sleeves are allowed but discouraged.
  • Absolutely no rolling without a rash guard or similar garment during AKA "Rolling bareback"
  • Please no T-shirts or loose fitting garments during no-gi for safety reasons.

Defensive Tactics or Group Sessions

  • Long athletic pants with no zippers, buckles, or anything else that may damage you, your training partner or the mat.
  • Long sleeved athletic shirt, rash guard, or similarly tight fitting garment.
  • Shorts and short sleeved shirts are highly discouraged, but are accepted.

HYGIENE POLICY
While all martial arts are contact sports, Jiu-jitsu in particular relies on close physical contact which carries a risk of communicable and possibly serious/fatal diseases (Athlete’s Foot, Impetigo, Ringworm, Staph, MRSA, Tinea Versicolor, influenza etc.) Therefore proper hygiene is REQUIRED AT ALL TIMES.

  • You and your training gear must be clean and free of any foul odors before stepping on the mats.
  • NO SHOES ON THE MAT AT ANY TIME, NO BARE FEET OFF THE MAT.
  • Fingernails and toenails must be clean and trimmed
  • Cuts, scrapes, or any other wound must be covered and taped securely
  • Any areas of concern such as rashes, discolored patches, scabbing should be brought to an instructor’s attention and cleared before training.
  • Although it can be embarrassing to notify your teammates and training partners of a possible infection or illness, it is your responsibility to err on the side of caution for your own safety as well as the safety of everyone around you.
  • It is always better to take a night off and be safe rather than injure or infect anyone else.
  • DO NOT train if you know you have any type of infection or illness!

Failure to adhere to the hygiene policy is a serious offense and could result in the termination of your membership.  Knowingly and willfully training with a communicable disease/infection could be considered a criminal action
